Spine Surgeon Joins Hospital Staff Frank Hermantin, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery, has joined the Kent & Queen Annes Hospital medical staff and the practice of Frederick Lohr, M.D., Chestertown Orthopedics.
He treats a wide variety of orthopedic conditions including degenerative disk disease, scoliosis and disk herniations. Recently, he has been employing minimally invasive microendoscopic techniques that shorten hospital stays and reduce pain; an advantage of this technique is that patients may have a herniated disk removed with two or three small incisions as an outpatient rather than a more invasive procedure which would require being an inpatient. Dr. Hermantin has also been trained in the non-operative treatment of back pain, using many innovative pain control techniques. Dr. Hermantin and his wife, Jennifer Phelps, a family practitioner who is not currently practicing, have three young children. -BACK- |
