Hospital’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program Receives Certification

Chestertown, MD — September 2, 2003 — Chester River Hospital Center has been awarded program certification for its pulmonary rehabilitation program by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Certification recognizes those programs rigorously reviewed by a national board and found to meet essential requirements for standards of care.

Pulmonary rehabilitation programs involve a multi-dimensional continuum of services by interdisciplinary specialists, directed to persons with pulmonary disease and their families. The goal of this team is to achieve and maintain the individual’s maximum level of independence in the community.

The pulmonary rehabilitation program at Chester River Hospital Center first opened in 1996.
