Outpatient Services
Cancer Services
With a doctor`s referral, cancer patients receive services at Chester River Hospital Center`s Outpatient Chemotherapy Center. Services provided include both chemotherapy and chemotherapy related services, including injections, blood transfusions and IV treatments. Other services include a pain management program, a lymphedema program and physical, occupational, and speech and swallowing therapy.
Support Services for Cancer Patients Because cancer affects every part of a patient`s life, Chester River Hospital Center offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech and hearing therapy to help cancer patients regain maximum function and independence. Our dietitians help patients meet and plan for special nutritional needs during and after treatment. Our nursing staff helps manage the treatment of side effects and provides ways to control cancer symptoms and pain.
The Cancer Counseling Program, developed in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine, is a collection of services offered to cancer patients and their families to address the psychological and social needs that accompany the diagnosis of cancer. The program is funded partially through a local donor and partially through health insurance, and is operated by the oncology nursing staff.
