Inpatient Dialysis

The inpatient dialysis program at Chester River Hospital Center provides facilities for bedside hemodialysis. The patients receiving inpatient dialysis have full access to our dialysis nurse and nephrologist, all of whom are dedicated to ensuring the treatment process is comfortable, dignified, and suited to each patient's individual needs. The dialysis program consists of two rooms in the Critical Care Unit (CCU), and one room in the Intermediate Care Unit (ICU) that is equipped for dialysis and can accommodate two patients.

When a patient is in end stage kidney failure, they often begin their treatment process with inpatient dialysis. Additionally, a patient may require inpatient dialysis while awaiting an organ transplant, or while making the transition to another form of dialysis, such as outpatient or home dialysis.
